Donald Wangunyu
Donald stands as the visionary Founder and Chief Executive Officer of FourFront Management, a dynamic division within Standard Investment Bank. He’s not only a pioneer of mobile/SMS trading in the nation but also etches his mark as the mastermind behind Kenya’s first Capital Markets Authority-recognized Robo-Advisor.
In addition to his role at FourFront, Donald is a stalwart board member of Standard Investment Bank. His commitment to financial integrity shines through as he holds the position of the registered Money Laundering reporting office at Kenya’s Financial Reporting Center. Moreover, he expertly oversees the intricate domains of Risk and compliance for the investment bank.
Donald’s influence extends to the heart of the financial arena, as he serves on the board of the Nairobi Securities Exchange. Leading the charge as the Chairman of the Technology and Trading Committee, he champions innovation and progress in the market.
His contributions to the Kenyan financial landscape don’t stop there; Donald proudly wears the hat of Chairman of the Board for the Kenya Association of Stockbrokers and Investment Banks (KASIB). His past roles include chairing the committee dedicated to fostering long-term funding for KASIB, leading the industry committee responsible for the removal of capital gains tax from listed market securities, and presiding as Chairman of the Broker Back Office System (BBO) Functionality Management Committee, a critical system for all stock-brokers and investment banks in Kenya.
Beyond the financial realm, Donald lends his wisdom as a member of the Planning and Economic Council of the Dominican Friars of East Africa. He’s also an esteemed Advisory Board member of the East Africa Forum for Alternative Investments, showcasing his diverse involvement in the region’s development.
His extensive experience encompasses roles in the Capital Markets Master Plan implementation group, Central Depository and Settlement Corporate’s (CDSC) Market Operations, and system selection committees.
His professional journey after school started in operations at Investors Bank and Trust, USA, and later led him to PegaSystems (USA), a frontrunner in business process automation. At PegaSystems, he served as a principal software engineer, spearheading the commercial bank cheque-processing systems team, before joining the ranks of Standard Investment Bank.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Suffolk University.
